  1. Ender's Game
    1-54
Ender is a six year old boy that is in a special military school for genius children. The school monitors the children's thoughts and feelings, Ender's Monitor is removed and is sent home. This usually means that you have been removed from the program but in Ender's case it means that he is being moved into Battle School. Colonel Hyrum Graff visits Ender and invites him to the school.
Before the colonel came to visit Ender, Ender was confronted by a gang of bullies who attacked him because he didnt have a monitor. Ender knocks the leader down and kicks him while he is down. I didnt understand why he did this but it became clear later when the colonel talked with him.
Ender likes the Colonel and he feels comfortable with him. The colonel thinks that Ender is going to be the commander that finally ends the war . The colonel challenges Ender and is willing to do anything to make sure Ender is ready to command the fleet. If I was Ender I wouldn't have been so willing to leave home and my family to become a commander, especially at the age of six.

  2. Ender's Game
    54-96
Nothing really exciting happened in the next section of my book. Ender started playing a video game that seems to be impossible. He also visited the battle room with the rest of the launchies ( the freshmen of Battle School). The battle room is the most important room in the school, this is where the older soldiers play a game like capture the flag, but they are in zero gravity. The section ended with Ender being sent to an army, or a team.
In this section of the book Ender begins playing "The Giants Drink" a game which seems near impossible to play. Basically there is a giant that has two drinks, one of these drinks has poison in it. The trick to the game is that both drinks have poison inside so no matter what you choose you end up losing. Ender got very frustrated with the game, this is the first time you see Ender acting his age. He responds to the games tricks like any six year old would. The next day he starts playing the game again but this time he didn't want to go through the frustration, so he made his character attack the giant and that is how he was able to progress.
At a different point in the section Ender befriends a boy named Alai, they are both smarter than most of the kids from the launch. this leads them to start pranking the other launchies. Alai is Ender's first actual friend, so when Ender was sent to join the Salamander Army he was mad that he had to leave his new friend. If I was in Ender's shoes they would have been happy, because to join an Army a kid would have to be at least 8 years old, Ender is still six. I could understand that Ender might be afraid, and I would too, because all the kids in the Army are at least twice his size.
